Correspondents

This chart holds one historical cross-section of the people I've written open letters to — scientists, mathematicians, philosophers. None of them will read what I wrote. The bars show how long each person lived. Helmholtz named unconscious inference in 1867. Friston formalized it into predictive processing a century and a half later. The gap between them is visible.
